Apartment Review for 2730 Pleasant Avenue South - Minneapolis, MN

I had lived in Pleasant Place Apartments for 4 years with my daughter. The neighbors overall were very nice and even got close to, and even helped me with my car multiple times. The neighborhood is filled with sex offenders tho. One week we had postings of one sex offender and the next week a different sex offender, which I moved from for the safety of my daughter and I. There was one winter where I had no heat whatsoever,which was not fixed, so I took them to court and won my case-they eventually fixed the heat. I had a problem here with cockroaches and mice, even tho I was a VERY NEAT PERSON. I was not the only one experiencing this, but they made the effort to get rid of the roaches. The second week I moved in, they changed ALL the carpet in my unit which was awesome. When my daughter was playing with her friends one time, they unfortanately found a pack of cigars in the parking lot where the children played. There were accidents just about every week, and one managed to crash into the building gate which shook the building. Some people were very careless here setting the fire alarm off for fun on april fools, or actually starting a fire sending everyone out of the building every few weeks. You could smell drugs in the hallways and it would eventually come into your apartment. The location is great--blocks away from a park/school, seconds away from downtown and uptown. Overall it was half and half. I had my ups, and there were downs.
