Apartment Review for 316 On The Park Upi - Minneapolis, MN

Where to start? When I first moved in, it was filthy and I had to spend a weekend cleaning before I could move anything in. In the first week, a fixture (that was in obvious need of replacement already) burst in the bathroom causing a flood that damaged or destroyed most of my belongings. It took HOURS for the water to get turned off, courtesy of the Minneapolis fire dept. I couldn't live in the unit for weeks, and was not reembursed for any portion of the rent, nor was the now mildewy stinking carpet replaced. The thermostat was broken, causing it to stay 90+ degrees in my unit at all times. They never put a screen in my window until, after weeks of pleading, my cat fell out while I was trying to air out the place (See above). The surgery cost 3 grand. The highly unprofessional management lectured me like a child because of a noise complaint on a Saturday night. I regularly had people trying to sell me drugs in and outside the building. Creepy neighbors, period. I had to get out of there. I gave them the lease break fee, but they never made any effort to re-rent the unit. They kept my damage deposit and attempted to sue me for damages caused by the flood that was born of their faulty maintainance. They also forced me to pay for all rent and parking for the remainder of the lease term that I paid them to break as their lease outlined. UPI = CROOKS!!! DO NOT RENT HERE!!!
