Apartment Review for Filister Enterprises - Minneapolis, MN

This is the worst place you can ever rent at! DO NOT BE FOOLED, BECAUSE EVERYTHING WILL SEEM PERFECT IN THE BEGINNING. When I first went to get a showing, the place was in HORRIBLE condition (hardwood was gray from how old it was, paint chipped, kitchen dirty/old and the apartment SMELLED!) Kay Lusk the manager asked me what is preventing me from taking the apartment, I said everything is really old. I was newly married so I wanted a nice place in a very tight timing. She said, okay I will paint the walls and varnish the floor. It was my first time renting an apartment, so I figured if she does that than there couldnt be possibly anything wrong with the apartment. Only to find out after I moved in that there are WORMS IN THE APARTMENT! I couldnt believe my eyes! My cousin and I spent a WHOLE day cleaning the apartment before we moved in. When this is something that should have been done by them. I didn't complain. I saw a worm the first time I was cleaning and just thought it was the guy before me that wasn't clean, only to find out later that the WOOD INSIDE THE APARTMENT IS ROTTEN, and this is why there are worms. My husband and I were really disquested by that. I have never seen something like that in my life! Then about two month later, MY APARTMENT WAS ENTERED WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE AND NO EMERGENCY. One of the caretakers opened my apartment door and closed it right back. I thought it was my husband, only to find out that it wasnt him! I tried not to think about it because I didnt feel very safe, i still had 3 month in the agreement, and never turned in the sheet that says what kind of condition the apartment was in. So if anything they could say I messed up the apartment, so i didnt want to get into problems. 2 month later, ANOTHER caretaker went into our apartment when my husband was there WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE AND NO EMERGENCY saying there was an emergency (when later found out that it was not, they had known about the issue from TWO WEEKS BEFORE.) THIS WAS SERIOUSLY THE END OF OUR PATIENCE! We went to the manager to complain about that, and to break the agreement. she said you can't, you have to speak to Harvey Filister, I said okay. This guy has no professionalism. He was swearing at me (his resident/ customer)! And he DIDNT even let me speak! I was shocked, I have never met a more vulgar guy than this! My husband came to speak to him and harvey was racist against him. He also told my husband I can do anything to hurt you. if you want to leave give me 2000 and leave! When we refused and told him "we were never going to recommend this place to anyone again" It was like someone Shocked Harvey with an electric shock! He told the manager “call the police on them for wanting to destroy the entire building!" WHAT! WE NEVER SAID THAT. WHAT AN ASSHOLE THAT IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY. THEN HE TOOK US TO COURT AND THE ASSHOLE DIDNT EVEN SHOW UP! We had to pay the last month of rent, and we didn’t even live there! I paid $300 for a flight ticket just to come to the court on that date and the asshole didnt even show up! He has already taken my money wrongfully so why should he! Please note that we have ALWAYS paid rent on time and we are not the type of individuals that get into any problems. For god’s sake, we have never been to courts in OUR LIVES BEFORE! Harvey Filister seems to be one of those people that just learned how to make money (it doesnt matter how) but no education. My apartment was entered TWICE without any prior notice. We were taken to court for god knows what reason! AND OUR MONEY WAS TAKEN WRONGFULLY. I really hope no one rents there again for them taking over $1300 of my money wrongfully. (I have so much more to say about that asshole, but I think I covered the main points)
