Apartment Review for Filister Enterprises - Minneapolis, MN

I’ve had a very positive experience with Filister Enterprises, as have many friends and fellow residents. I lived in one of the buildings in Uptown for two years, moved away, and then came back (luckily they had a unit available in my old building!). I lived in a studio in one of the twin buildings at 26th and Fremont. The studios are pretty big for studios, but keep in mind that it means your bedroom is combined with the living room. The extra space includes a walk-through closet (plenty of storage), separate dining area, and kitchen. After I got used to scaling back from a 1 BR to a studio, I loved it – it felt like a great way to live more simply and lower my expenses. Keep in mind that these are older buildings typical of Uptown: weathered hardwood floors, high ceilings, big windows, some built-ins (cabinet between kitchen/dining, makeup table in closet), sturdy doors, big kitchen cabinets and lots of character. I know of many residents who have been in the same apartment from 3-5 years, which is unusual given that many Uptown buildings have a high turnover. People like it here. The residents, staff and caretaker are all very nice, and the buildings are quiet. The best part is the location: there are bus lines 1/2 block away, 3 grocery stores, gyms, bike paths, tons of bars and restaurants, and just about anything you could possibly want. I don’t have to drive much anymore, which saves more money. The management and caretaker have always been very attentive. Based on my experience (and the experiences of the long-time residents in the building), I would highly recommend Filister Properties.
