Apartment Review for Jas Apartments - Minneapolis, MN

"Slumlord From Hell- Steve Frenz- Property Slummer-" I wanted to respond to this review. I wish I could talk to the person who posted this. I, too, was a victim of Steve Frenz and his wife, Jennifer. Back in the 1990's I lived at one of his properties with my precious toddler. I was a single parent with no criminal record. My crime was that I was low-income. Mr. Frenz laughed and joked with the maintenance guy right in front of me that my apartment was previously occupied by a known prostitute and drug dealer. I had complained to him that I needed a 2nd or 3rd floor apartment due to the fact that people were pounding on my window at 2 in the morning scaring the hell out of me. He originally promised me a second floor apartment, but reneged, I believe, due to my status as a single, female and head of household. He became irate when I challenged him on giving me keys to the bars on my windows, because I was very afraid my child and I would perish if there were ever a fire in the building. He refused to give me the keys. I told him I would not pay him rent until he fixed a few items in the slummy apartment and also give me the keys so I could safely escape in case of a fire. He threatened to give me a U.D. and called me several misogynistic names. I felt very intimidated at the time due to my "welfare" status and did not pursue any legal action against him. I was terrified of him. I remember at the time he told me he had a son, who was my child's age at the time. I wondered how this pathetic sub-human vile scumbag could possibly look at my precious child and laugh in his face and threaten his mother. I called his wife at their business office number (which was at their home residence at the time) and she was terribly rude and acted repulsed that I called to complain. I was respectful and pleaded with her as a mother to respect where I was coming from and she blew me off. It, in some ways, amazes me that these slum lords can still be roaming free. He and his wife should be prosecuted for malice-a-forethought in putting tenants in dangerous, unhealthy environments while taking their money. Of course, I am not so surprised now, ever since the fall of our economy in 2008. Our government has allowed the banking scum to do whatever they damn well please and not spend time in prison, why should our justice system hold slum lords accountable? I will never forget how my child and I were treated by Steve Frenz and his wife, Jennifer Frenz. I was recently relieved when I read that this duo is currently bankrupt and I am hopeful they will not be able to do business in this state from now on. Collectively, we current and former tenants of JAS should fight to keep JAS from ever doing business in real estate again. KARMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
