Copenhagen Enterprises/Apartments makes a living off of dishonest business practices. The owner's husband is an attorney and they actively attempt to withhold EVERY tenant's security deposit, using any reason they can find including but not limited to regular wear and tear, dust on walls, fans, or woodwork, tub grime, refrigerator wear; pretty much anything they can think of. This is an active part of their business plan, as is using any reason they can to attempt to extend your lease or raise your rent, as they have a HIGH vacancy rate, maybe the word is getting out on this sleaze. Their buildings are models of slumlord management. Dirty, unkept, odor filled public areas, bad plumbing (good luck getting hot water or reasonable pressure), windows/window panes separated and falling apart. (serious safety hazards), etc. Requests for repairs and/or general cleaning are met with arrogance and "deal with it." If you do get them to repair something they will try and charge you for it, even though it's their dilapidated building. I have never experienced so many transgressions by a landlord, and heard so many similar stories from other tenants. There are plenty of rental companies in Minneapolis who don't use extortion as part of their daily business practice. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. But if you must, read your lease carefully as they WILL try to screw you.
