Apartment Review for Diversified Property Management - Minneapolis, MN

My boyfriend and I moved into the apartment about a year ago while I finished up my degree in college. Granted it is an ideal location if you are going to the U, but at what cost? Although we did not expect the place to by luxurious by any means, the management does not worry about the health of its inhabitants. We currently have had well over 20 mice in our apartment. When we asked management to fix it, they ended up sending traps over 2 weeks later. We also had the same issue as others with the bed bugs. However, they felt ours didn't need to get sprayed. We keep our apartment extremely clean, so we can't be the ones causing the problem. My main concern is that there are many little kids in the apartment and with the amount of mice present, its just not safe. Additionally, although they claimed to have a secure entry system, thats false. People prop the door open all day, including maintenance. They will use anything from stick wads of newspaper or bricks that have fallen off the apartment. Additionally, its just not the best neighborhood safety wise. About a month ago a man who lives across the street had his pitbulls out, who ended up attacking a man and his dogs right outside our building. Finally, I was blown away with some of the pictures they advertised on rent.com and such. The outside actually is horrible. Garbage is strewn everywhere and nothing is ever trimmed. Please don't make the same mistake we did. Don't rent from them!
