Not worth it
Review Date: 10/31/2009 Reviewer: Anonymous
This apartment has a few things going for it: its location next to Loring Park, the appearance of the building, and the amenities. That being said, it is not worth the price-tag ($2000 for a 1-bedroom incl. parking). The staff tries to be helpful. But there is way too much turnover; so they are often inexperienced and make mistakes. The security of the building is not great, although I have not heard of any serious problems, but there is a potential for problems. There is no security camera on one of the commonly used side doors. There is also not always someone keeping an eye on the security monitors (the concierge is not on 24 hours and is often not at his/her desk), and the video from the security cameras is not recorded (I asked the building manager about all of this several months ago). The maintenance staff is very nice and works hard, but there have been a few problems: trash overflow in the trash room (probably a result of not having enough trash chutes/rooms), carpet near one of the side elevators (near the restaurant) is filthy, garage has never been cleaned and the floor is very dirty. Miscellaneous problems: our toilet clogs easily, main elevator was out for 2 weeks, at one point only 1 of 3 elevators was operational. If I had to guess, the main problem is that the people who own the building are cheapskates and they have not hired enough maintenance people, and they do not pay the rest of the staff enough money to keep them on. |
